A threat from anywhere on the pitch

A spectacular length-of-the field try for London Irish against London Scottish at the Richmond Athletic Ground in October 2017 announced Joe’s arrival on the professional rugby scene. He hasn't looked back.

Having begun his career at London Irish, he joined Bath for the 2018/19 season. Joe began playing the game seriously from the age of 13 initially having preferred football. He was born in Fiji and moved to England at the age of three because his father Ilaitia was in the British Army. He also lived in Germany and Brunei before returning to the UK in 2013, eventually joining London Irish's academy.

You don’t get many English wingers like him. Physically, he has size, strength and a good pair of hands on him as well. With his skills-set and he’s such a young guy – I said it during the week; he’s got the world at his feet really. He’s going to keep getting better so we’re lucky to have him"

He played four times for England U18 in 2016 before celebrating his debut for the U20 team with one of their nine tries in the 59-17 win over France at Exeter in February 2017. He toured Argentina with England seniors in the summer of 2017, but had to wait until November 2018 for his international debut making an immediate impact and scoring tries against Japan and Australia.
