DONE DEAL: Connie Scofield Joins Sheffield United on Loan

Sheffield United have confirmed the loan signing of midfielder Connie Scofield from London City Lionesses until the end of the 2024/25 season. Scofield, who joined London City at the start of last season, adds experience to the Blades’ midfield as they look to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the campaign. Having played at both Barclays Women’s Championship and Women’s Super League (WSL) level, she brings valuable top-flight experience.

Scofield began her professional career at Birmingham City, making 42 senior appearances, including 29 in the WSL. She later moved to Leicester City before spending a loan spell at Coventry United. Since joining London City Lionesses, she has been a regular feature in their midfield, making 15 appearances this season. Internationally, Scofield has represented England at youth levels and earned her senior debut for Northern Ireland in 2023.

Speaking about her move, Scofield said: “I’m super happy to be here. The girls I know here are lovely and I’m sure everyone else is too. I can’t wait to play at such a lovely stadium, meet the fans, and I just can’t wait to get going.” Sheffield United head coach Ash Thompson added: “Connie ticked a lot of boxes for the kind of player we were looking to bring in. She’s tenacious, energetic and brings plenty of experience in both this division and above. We’re looking forward to working with her and particularly looking forward to what we feel she’ll add to our squad for the remainder of the campaign.”
