ISC trio extend contracts at Leicester Tigers
England age group trio Harry Simmons, Jordan Olowofela and Tom Hardwick have all agreed new contracts at Leicester Tigers
Simmons
21-year-old Simmons joined the Tigers academy from school in Norfolk and made his senior debut in November 2017, scoring two tries in a Cup fixture in the same season.
“We have a strong group of young players coming through to play senior rugby and Harry has made strong progress through the system here. We look forward to seeing him back to match fitness soon and he will be keen to kick on again.”
Leicester Tigers head coach Geordan Murphy
Simmons also expressed excitement about the extension: “It’s the club I always wanted to play for as a young boy. Me and my family have always supported Tigers and my rugby idols played here. It’s always been my team and it’s surreal that I get the chance to play for them, which I never thought I would.“It hasn’t been a good year with injury, but I’m happy to have the opportunity to re-sign and it’s nice to feel that I’m not forgotten.” Harry Simmons
Olowofela
One of the successes in the England Under-20s squad last season, Olowofela made his Tigers debut in November 2017 and has topped 20 appearances for the club, scoring his first try in the Twickenham fixture against Northampton Saints in October.
“Jordan has taken his opportunities at senior level this season and become a part of the senior squad here. He is learning all the time and keen to improve and develop as a player, and we believe he is in the right place to do that.”

Olowofela, 20, made his feelings on the extension clear: “I feel like this is home now. I’ve been here five years now and I feel very much at home in Leicester and at Tigers. I always wanted to be a Leicester Tiger growing up so when the opportunity came to stay here I was never going to say no to it. It’s good have a group of us come through the club together from day one.” Jordan Olowofela
Hardwick
Academy graduate and current England Under-20s player, Tom Hardwick, has played at fly-half and centre with Tigers, making his senior debut in November 2017 and adding a further eight first-team appearances this season after playing in the Under-20s World Cup last summer. “The club is very ambitious and I want to be a part of that. It's going to be a successful club for the years to come and I want to be a part of that.” Tom Hardwick
Geordan Murphy also shared his thoughts on the young player:
“Tom is a very good young player who we have seen come right through the ranks at the club. He has done very well for us at age-group levels and now at senior level. He is working alongside international players and learning from the experience all the time. He has taken his opportunities well this season and we look forward to his continued development here.”
